About Harmony Homes for Healing

Housing Services Provider serving Northern California, including Oakland and Fairfield, CA

Harmony Homes for Healing is a nonprofit organization in Northern California, including Oakland and Fairfield, CA, that works with housing insecure veterans, families, mothers with babies, survivors of domestic violence, people reentering the community, adults in recovery, adults with disabilities, and others. Our goal is to end homelessness and provide vulnerable populations with clean, beautiful living spaces.

While many housing environments are unable to accept mothers and fathers with children, Harmony Homes for Healing accepts entire families together. Our team works hard to help residents return to safe permanent housing by offering housing deposit assistance, housing case management and navigation services when the time is right.

Harmony Homes for Healing believes that homelessness is a traumatic experience in and of itself that deserves recognition and healing. To this end, our team connects residents to individual therapy and life coaching, in addition to weekly peer-to-peer healing circles. These group sessions, called Harmony Circles, are run by certified peer-to-peer counselors with the ultimate goal of healing, gaining perspective, and creating community within and between residents at the home.

Housing insecurity and food insecurity often go hand in hand, so Harmony Homes for Healing also maintains a food pantry program to ensure that residents feel secure in both. We also provide transitional, sober living, and short-term post-hospitalization housing to people who are struggling with medical conditions, addiction, domestic violence, recent incarceration and other circumstances.

Our team believes in the power of a safe and judgment-free space and that a healing home is the first step to a new life.
